A Jupiter Transit II

By Tom Jacobs

A few months ago I wrote here about transiting Jupiter conjuncting my Moon, to give a real-world perspective on this planet by transit. These days it’s conjunct it again as it retrogrades.

I wrote that sometimes we have to give up things in order to see how to choose the better stuff that Jupiter opportunity can bring. With the retrograde over my Moon I knew I was going to move soon, as the place where I live and work doesn’t really do it for me any longer. There’s a list of details that’s emerged over the last few months that make it clear I can do much better, and before I put in my notice, I was given notice yesterday by my landlord. There were around 5 discrete half seconds in the first minute after reading it when a part of me tried to announce that it’s probably time to panic, but the rest of me knew that I was going to leave one way or the other, and this way’s as good as any other.

Last night I made a list of what I want in my next place, and was surprised that I don’t often think about what kind of place I’d like to live in (my Moon is in Sagittarius with Mercury-Neptune, and my North Node is in the 4th - I spend a lot of time thinking about other things). So, I made a list, my first one. It’s subject to revision, but I approached it with the idea that Jupiter’s offering the opportunity to imagine a better, more comfortable and more appropriate home base for me than I’ve imagined before.

The list is coming along. While I’m not dead set on the miniature dolphin water park, giant box store, polo field, licorice whip slalom course or oversized fleet of oversized zeppelins, I do have to admit that I have some minimum standards. And for someone who’s learning that he’s prone to overlooking his Moon needs/4th house stuff, that’s a great thing to recognize with this transit.
